PingPong (Product Research Site) (Includes Payment Proof)

.
I came across PingPong (via a Facebook group) about a month ago and decided to join.¬†Looking for an additional way to earn, I thought I’d check it out.

PingPong is into product research. Companies come to them to receive online feedback about their products from users like my fine self (and your wovly self too, of course).

Can any human join? ūüôā

I haven’t seen anything on their site excluding anyone, so I’m assuming anyone with a PayPal account can join. (There are some countries, however, where PayPal is a no-no, or where you can send money via PayPal but can’t receive via PayPal. My understanding is it’s a PayPal policy thingymejig, and not to do with a particular site.)

Sooo what happened after joining PingPong, lady?

I received notifications of tests soon after. Unfortunately, I either didn’t qualify for them or available slots had run out by the time I got there.

I’d say it was about a week or so after joining that I qualified for a test and got myself a slot. (It felt like a date!)

(I kid. I kid.)

The session

I did the test on 15th May. Really enjoyed it. The session was for half an hour and paid 20 Euros. It was live, via video call.

Payment, pweese

I got PayPal’d a week later. However, it was sent as a pending payment which cleared after a further week (May 31st). That was my only gripe as I thought after 7 days, what I received would be available immediately, and there was nothing on PingPong’s site to say that would happen. A PayPal fee was also subtracted, so I ended up with 18.97 Euros, not 20 Euros. (That part was mentioned on their site though, so it was my oversight.)

Did schomeone schay payment proof?

All in all

It was an enjoyable experience. I was a bit nervous, but got into the swing of it. It was laid back and I really just had to share what I honestly thought.

New sessions

I’m yet to receive notifications of new tests, but I think it’s a new site so it might take a while for them to get more clients. I do hope more sessions come my way in the future as it was a cool way to earn.

If you’d like to join PingPong, I’d appreciate you doing so through my referral link
here. (thank you)

Online Earnings: May 2017

.
I don’t think I’m going to get any more money today, so let me do this write-up.

I’m very happy with how I did this month. Turned out to be my highest earning month this year.

I made $394.52. Almost $400. That’s almost $100 a week.

I’m happy with that, especially in light of the three-year proofreading gig ending in mid May.

The great thing, the blessing, is that some of the clients from this former gig contacted me, so I now have a small group of proofreading clients. I hope to increase that.

Right, earnings breakdown:

– Proofreading: $291.75

Prolific Academic (surveys): $26.84 (£20.84)

– Short tasks: $23.97

NiceTalk Tutor (English tutoring online): $22.83

PingPong (product research site): $19.99

uTest (testing site): $6.00

Gift Hunter Club: $2.00 (read review)

Points2Shop: $1.14 (formerly called Cashle. Read review.)

I’m happy with the variety, which came after finding out the company I proofread for would be folding.

Highest month of proofreading is due to a combination of the last two weeks of proofreading for the company and new clients coming my way from the company when it closed down. Grateful for the new clients. Accounted for over half my proofreading earnings this month.

I started using Prolific Academic a lot more, so made over twice what I made in April.

The short tasks are¬†with a site called Hybrid. Tasks aren’t consistent, but picked up a bit this month.

NiceTalk Tutor is an app-based English tutoring service. I like it because I can hold conversational English with folks. It’s still teaching. It’s still learning. But in a laid-back way.

I came across PingPong about a month ago. Will write a review on it.

I tried to get back into doing uTest, but couldn’t get into the rhythm of it.

The small amount I made on Gift Hunter Club and Points2Shop was mostly via referrals.

Plans for June

I’m looking at where I tend to make the most money, and I want to grow it. I want to build¬†up my portfolio of proofreading clients.

I also want to focus more on NiceTalk Tutor and Prolific Academic. With NiceTalk, I want to sync up with its busy times. With Prolific, I’ve found myself feeling resistant to doing surveys lately, so I’ve been doing less of them. It’s less to do with the surveys themselves and more to do with the fact that I’ve never really been a survey person. However, if there’s any survey site to stick to, for me, it’s Prolific Academic. The surveys aren’t boring and they pay well.

.

So that’s me. I hope to make more in June than I did in May. By the end of June, I hope to have made enough to average out at $30 a day (I averaged $12.73 in May). However, I’d be happy with an average of $20 a day. Would be a good start and more than I’ve made in a while.

Online Earnings: April 2017

.
April didn’t go the way I hoped. Not only did it feel somewhat slow, but I found out the company I proofread for is closing down the middle of this month.

Proofreading is my major source of online income and I only worked with the one company (they had many clients I proofread for).

In my last post, I mentioned the risk of having one main income source, not knowing what was actually round the corner.

.
The other gig I got in February, where I was doing short tasks, has dried up. The few tasks that were available this month weren’t for me.

Been a busy three months. I’m more settled at home now. So the time leading up to mid month will be spent:

Рdoing as much proofreading as I can before the company shuts down

¬†– paying more attention to a few sites I’m signed up to, but haven’t used as much

 Рsearching for new earning opportunities

I have to find a replacement by then, enough to be making at least $200 a month.

.
Considering the slow month I had in April, I did well Рnot as much as March, but better than January and February.

I made $226.77.

.
Breakdown:

 РProofreading: $185.50

 РShort tasks: $28.81

 РProlific Academic: $12.46 (£9.66)

.
Prolific Academic is one of the best survey sites I know. It’s up there with Pinecone Research. Run by doctorate students. Pays well. And the surveys aren’t please-put-me-out-of-my-misery boring either.

.
I hope I not only find a replacement, but do better than that.

The lesson in all of this is the blessing: don’t put all your¬†bottles of wine in one cellar. ūüôā

.
Wish me the luck of the Irish. May this month drop some juicy apples.

It’s Unwise to Only Have One Main Source of Income Online

.
(points at self)

(points at self again)

(almost pokes eye out in the process)

.
Proofreading accounts for most of my online income. And I only proofread on the one site. Though I’ve been working there a couple of years, at the back of my mind, I know that if the company I proofread for folds up, or decide they don’t want me on the job anymore for whatever reason, that’s most of my online income gone. Poof.

I don’t want my income to be that dependent. It’s not a baby.

Need to find an additional main egg or two, methinks. Don’t wanna spread myself thin, but two or three main (and fairly reliable/consistent) eggs would be good.

$30 A Day: Update 2

.
Compared to March, this month has been somewhat slow and uneventful. I’ve made $121.41 so far. My average has gone up a bit from $7.89 a day to $8.09 a day.

Tasks continue to be very dry on the ground with the second gig. Proofreading work has dried up a bit too. Of recent, it’s felt like it’s taken me longer to hit $10 there.¬†I’ve had a few times when I’ve hit more than $10 in a day, but generally, the pace of workflow has felt slower. There’s also me still not syncing up my day with when the site’s busier, but that’s not that different from all the other times when I don’t!

It’s Easter weekend, so I expected things would be quieter. However, I managed to reach $10 yesterday (Saturday) and also the day before. I’m over halfway to reaching another $10. I’ll see if I can do that by the time I hit the sack tonight or by the end of Sunday morning. Ideally, I’d like to go into the rest of Sunday knowing there’s roughly $30 on its way to me soon. (Update: done!)

.
The rest of the month, I’ll be trying to get my ass up earlier so I can catch more work. I’m such a night owl. (cooo, cooo. flutter, flutter.)
